As part of the 112nd IOC General Assembly in Moscow continued in Beijing as the venue of the Olympic Summer Games 2008. The Chinese capital is set within two ballots against Paris, Istanbul, Toronto and Osaka. This was the Olympic Summer Games, after Tokyo in 1964 and Seoul 1988, for the third time brought to Asia.
